If your spouse doesn’t already have
a bank account,
credit cards,
line of credit
solely in his own name,
consider setting this up
NOW.
This isn’t about being secretive.
Both of you can have
virtual access to this.
My husband regularly looks at
my accounts
and I regularly look at his.
This is ensuring
both of you have access
to funds
should your joint accounts
be compromised
by…say…one of you
starting up
an (eventually) high profile business.
Having separate financial identities
is prudent for everyone.
Identity theft, death, law suits, etc
could freeze joint accounts.
But for business builders,
it is even more important.
We take more risks
than the average person.
Minimize these risks.
Consider setting up
a separate financial identity
for your spouse.
