I visited a writing forum today.
One of the questions was…
Have you ever taken
a writing course?
I thought that was
a ridiculous question
to ask.
Of course, we’ve all taken
writing courses.
We’re writers.
Then I read the answers.
Many of the newer writers
had never taken a course.
Some never planned
to take a course.
They were already ‘good’
at writing stories.
I’m ‘good’ at writing stories also
but I still take courses.
I completed a 3 hour online workshop yesterday
on writing dark heroes
and the insights in that workshop
helped me improve the story
I was working on.
That was an immediate return
for taking that workshop.
