I recently met
with a group of writers.
Many of them talked about
how
they had ‘no time’ to write.
Yet they knew the plots
of all of the popular TV shows.
Hey, I understand.
TV shows are something
we can talk about,
something we have
in common with others.
I didn’t have much to contribute
to those conversations.
But I’m making my dreams
a reality
and that’s more important to me
than not having to search
for topics of conversations
at parties.
“You’ve got your salary,
negotiate it.
You’ve got time after work
— don’t tell me
you don’t have time,
the average American
watches five hours of T.V. a day
— start a side business,
go full-time if you want.
But, think about
how much you can grow
and earn
versus how much you can cut
and protect,
and that is how
you start crafting
your own rich life.”
You have the time.
Choose to spend it
in a way
that gives you lasting joy.
