I see this happening
more and more often.
Someone says something.
It has been recorded.
There are witnesses.
Then that someone
denies he ever said it.
Why do this?
It is clear to any logical person
that the someone said it.
Because the denial
isn’t designed for logical people.
It is designed
to give supporters
just enough doubt
for them
to justify continuing
to support the denier.
Many people WANT to believe.
That’s more important to them
than truth.
They don’t need much
to continue believing.
