Amazon has a program
called Kindle Unlimited (KU).
Readers pay a monthly fee
to have unlimited access to books
(like a library except with a fee).
Writers who participate in it
share a portion of that fee
based on the number of pages read.
As you can imagine,
there are MANY writers who game the system.
They offer books stuffed with nonsense,
have links at the front of the books
to take readers to the last page,
and other scams.
Every time Amazon changes the rules
to try to eliminate the scamming,
the scammers merely change their methods.
This happens immediately.
There is no impact
to the scammers’ incomes.
Any ethical writer/publisher
in the program
will always be competing with scammers
and they’ll never beat them
because they have restrictions
and the scammers don’t.
If you’re competing with scammers
for income,
you have two choices
– accept that as long
as there is money
to be made,
the scammers will be there
OR
go into a market
where a scammers’ activities
don’t affect your income.
The scammers will always be there.
Build your business
around that assumption.
