My big release is tomorrow.
Today, a yet-to-be-published indie writer
contacted me about an interview.
She wanted a commitment today.
I said ‘sure’
(because I never say ‘no’ to free promo)
and she scheduled this interview
for the END OF SEPTEMBER.
It’s clear what she’s doing
(because her traffic is nonexistent
and her blog posts are sporadic).
If my story does well,
she’ll have a popular post for her blog.
Either I’ll honor my commitment to do the interview
and she’ll have an interview with a popular writer
OR
I won’t honor my commitment to do the interview
and she’ll write a post
bitching and complaining about me.
(which I suspect is what she’s really hoping for)
If my story doesn’t do well,
my interview will magically disappear.
In this instant reply world,
if you delay a response, action, decision,
folks WILL investigate why you’re delaying.
You might as well be transparent.
