I was on the subway yesterday
and a mattress company
had ads everywhere.
The ads were great
except for one thing.
They all proudly proclaimed
the mattresses
were made in America.
The problem?
I was taking the subway
in Canada.
Proudly announcing
that your product
is made in a different country,
especially a country
that is in a trade dispute
with the country
in which you’re advertising,
is NOT going to sell
your product.
It will make people
LESS likely to buy.
Tweak your marketing
for every region
in which you’re advertising.
A selling point
in one region
might be a reason
NOT to buy in another.
